How does Covid-19 make you feel?

I have been asked this question quite a lot whenever I engage in a conversation where I have mentioned that I have Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. My first thoughts was “it’s not too bad” or “it makes me feel lonely”.

However, when I contracted the virus not so long ago, I thought that I wasn’t going to make it out of my isolation period. It made me feel really negative about my future and that I didn’t have much hope in myself. When I finally started improving and was showing less symptoms than before, I had more energy to do the things I could do that I still wanted to continue with.

The reason for me telling you all this is to encourage anyone (even if you have Autism or not) to bear with the stress of having Covid-19. I know it’s not the most pleasant illness to have, but I do believe that if you take it easy and try not to fight the discomfort of the virus, you will hopefully feel better quicker.

Everyone is different in their own unique ways, so not always is it possible to feel better quicker than others have. But I can assure you that each day that passes during the pandemic, it’s just another day closer to freedom day (where there are no restrictions at all).
